Hello everyone. I hope that all of you are enjoying this nice Spring weather that we have been having here in Idaho. I don't know about you, but I love it when the sun shines. This week I have been learning about infographics. Infographics is a creative way to portray information for flyers, presentations, and other things. One of my instructors introduced me to a website called Piktochart. This website has many free templates and tools that you can use. You can go to the following link to check it out: https://piktochart.com/ I work at a college here in Idaho Falls in the recruitment department. We are always looking for new, creative ways to portray information about our campus to our students and potential students. I showed my supervisor Piktochart today and she was thrilled. We have already started brainstorming ideas for using Piktochart, and I have starting making a few flyers to put up around campus. I am not including the flyers that I started for work because they are not finished. I did play around with Piktochart yesterday, and I will post it shortly. On top of the free version of Piktochart, there is also a version that you can pay for. With the paid version, there are 3 different prices that you can choose from. If you choose to stick with the free version, then you cannot download pictures as a PDF. You can only download them as a PNG. I would definitely suggest looking into Piktochart and trying it for yourself.
Love the content you created in your infographics and defiantly relate to the dog image on several occasions, haha. Often when I create infographics, I included the creative commons logo attribution so much of my work is open source. Always great to share your work to inspire others!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your feedback. I appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteHi Lori,
ReplyDeleteYour infographics are fun. They are catchy and the colors you chose work well together. This was a great tool to lean and I will definitely be using it in my future academics and career. I can't wait to see what you have for your work.
I was not able to use Pikochart, because the website was temporarily down. It must not have been an issue for anybody else, because the last three blogs I have looked at have used Pikochart. Instead, I used Canva and Venngage. I liked both of them; although, I like Venngage more, because they had more options and are more user friendly. The main difference between the two was Canva did not let me size photos out of there context. I am going to have to try Pikochart and I am totally sold on infographics. I'm so happy we have been introduced to this technology.
Thanks,
Nicole Barnes
HI Nicole, thank you for your feedback. I am excited to check out your blog and see the results of the software that you used.
DeleteHi Lori! What a great and clear visual you have provided. I like how there are two different posts, both tutorial style, and giving an idea of how they can be used. The infographic you made are also a very easy to follow step by step process that show different tools and ways they can be utilized. I love your idea of using these programs to create flyers for projects as well! Great work, and awesome job at being creative in the utilization of this tool. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks Leslie.
DeleteLori, I also used that wooden background on my infographic. I really liked your graphic about creative commons. I can definitely see myself using pictochart for projects in the near future. I like how they stand out to the eye. In the program we use, I could use this product to promote our service AND success rate. Very cool. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Derek. I like the wooden background. I think it goes well with just about anything.
