Good afternoon everyone. I have been reading into copyright this week and when I came across some videos about creative commons, I was blown away about how easy it is to illegally use material on the internet. I did not realize that we are required to ask permission to use information from writers of articles and papers that are copyrighted to use their work in papers of our own. I thought it was as easy as citing the information, but apparently that is not always the case. This surprised me. It is up to users of the internet to use it responsibly. It is also our responsibility to educate ourselves and those we are responsible for about situations like this. We can also educate people about creative commons so that more material will be easier to access in the future without the fear of if we are breaking the law or not. I will be taking more care in the future to pay attention to copyright laws, and will be teaching them to people around me.

Networking is a very important tool for educators. With budget cuts, we need to find more creative ways to expand our visions. I am excited to use this, blogging, as a tool for networking. I have never done this before and am excited to learn.I plan to read as many blogs as I can, and reach out to others. This way, in my future career, I will have a network already set up. I also plan to incorporate this into my everyday life. I enjoy finding out what others views and perspectives are, as this seems to broaden my own. I have been asking questions around the school that I work in and I was surprised how many people actually used blogging as a resource. I will be adding my coworkers blogs to my PLN as I get them.

Hello again. Last week, I was given the opportunity to look up and research different tech and learning related blogs. There were ones that were interesting to me, and ones that I didn't give the time of day. This is, I am sure, relative. Blogs that were interesting to me were ones that were geared towards others. I enjoyed looking through the blogs that involved more than one person. I prefer that to when it is only one person blogging because I appreciate more than one perspective. That is all I would like to say for today, so I will catch you all soon.

Welcome to TechEdBlog!
Hello! my name is Lori Killian. I am a college student at Idaho State University. I am starting this blog for my OLP4407 (Organizational Learning & Performance) class. This class is titled Instructional Technologies in HRD. This is my first blog, and I am quite unfamiliar with how everything works. This makes me excited because I love to learn. I will be posting what I am learning in my class and I will share as much as I can about how I apply it in my everyday life. I work in higher education, and I enjoy helping others reach their educational goals. I will be learning a lot of different technologies that I have never heard of, so I hope you are as excited as I am for this opportunity to learn.
I would implore you to please comment and we can learn together. I welcome any and all thoughts on the topics I will be posting.
