Podcasts

Hello everyone, for my Instructional Technologies class this week we listened to podcasts. I don't know about you, but I have heard the term before, but never knew exactly what they are. Turns out there are podcast for almost any topic I could think of. I googled podcast for educational technologies, and I was surprised at how many results popped up. The main podcasts that I decided to focus on was titled "#Ed. Tech Chat". I will embed the link:                    https://player.fm/series/edtech-chat-radio/a-quick-look-at-how-digital-learning-has-evolved

If you have the time, there are numerous resources in these podcasts. There was one that stood out to me titled " A Quick Look at How Digital Learning Has Evolved". They talk a lot about the excitement of learning. He also talks about how pedagogy and digital learning go extremely well together.

There is one more that I would like to add, which is about andragogy. He explains what andragogy is in a way that I have not heard before. He makes it easier to understand the term, and talks about the principles and myths of this topic.

This goes along with what we learned in Instructional Tech a couple of weeks ago.

Hello Everyone, I hope you are having an amazing day. Last week I talked about PowerPoint and a new tool called Jing. Today I am going to talk about the free snipping tool for Microsoft Window's users. I use this tool at my current employer and it is very handy. If you have a device with Windows, then you already have the Snipping Tool. I took a screenshot with this tool for the instructions on how to pull it up. I will put it after this post. This tool can be used for many different things. You can use it for illustrations for others to know what you are talking about. I am actually using it at work to make a handbook. I use this snipping tool to take screenshots so my fellow co-workers know how to do something in case I am not there. For all of you Windows users, I hope you utilize this fun tool.
After you pull up the desktop app, then this will appear:
You will then select new and snip the part of the screen you want. After that, just save it however you will know to find it, and you are done! It's that easy.

Fun Tools

Good evening everyone, I hope that you are having a beautiful day. In my Instructional Technology class this week we are learning some really fun tools that I thought I would share. One of these tools is called Jing, and I think I have been having too much fun with it. This free tool allows you takes video and screenshots, and it has a really neat little sun that just hangs out on your computer for whenever you need it. It is very handy to have. If you feel up to it, then I would like to suggest you check it out at https://www.techsmith.com/jing-tool.html . If you go to this page, then you can click for a free download!

One more tool I would like to talk about is PowerPoint. This is not a free resource, and you can purchase it with the Office Suite. There are many different things you can do with slides. It is actually pretty fun to play with. I was playing with motion paths and you can make bouncing balls and just about anything you can think of. I think that PowerPoint is worth buying.

Good afternoon everyone. I have been taking a really cool class called Instructional Technology. There are many great new ideas and tools that I have been learning in the past 5 weeks since starting this class. Today I have chosen to discuss a certain topic that is an important tool that I have learned / and am learning. I want to write meaningful blog posts. I like to journal, but that is not what blogging is about. It is meant for the sharing of valuable information. I found some extremely helpful tips when I was reading a blog titled "The Minimalists". They give 20 tips about how to make your blog meaningful. If you have time, then I would like to encourage you to check it out at following link : https://www.theminimalists.com/blog/   . I especially like the part where they advise to "be yourself". In this world now where social media is on  the rise, I could see how it could be easy for someone to portray themselves to be something they are not. I think it is important to "be ourselves". We are all different, and that is a wonderful thing because we all have different ways we can help others. Thank you and I hope everyone is having a beautiful day!
